The start of classes on September 2nd marked the beginning of CCDC’s 35th Anniversary Season — From First Steps to a Legacy of Dance.
For 35 years, generations of dancers and families have stepped through our doors, each adding to the story that makes CCDC what it is today. Whether you’ve been with us since the early 90s, joined for just a season long ago, or are taking your very first class this year, you are part of this legacy. Together, we’ve built more than a studio — we’ve built a community where artistry, growth, and connection take center stage.
As our director, Megan Logee, shared:
“The strength of CCDC’s success lies in the experience, dedication, and passion of its faculty throughout the years. I know that I am beyond blessed to be working with this group of amazing educators to help our dancers reach their full potential in dance and, more importantly, in life.”
This milestone season is not just about looking back — it’s also about looking forward. And that includes celebrating the incredible faculty who carry the CCDC legacy into the future. This year, we are thrilled to welcome three wonderful new teachers to our community: Elizabeth, Brooke, and Lily.

Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth’s journey began when her mom insisted she try ballet at age seven — and with one grand plié in second position, she was hooked.
Today, she brings that same passion into her teaching, where she reminds students that mistakes on stage are not failures but opportunities to embrace artistry and enjoy the moment.
She describes her teaching style as motivational, creative, and fun, and hopes every dancer leaves class feeling proud of themselves.

Parents can trust that Elizabeth’s classes are designed to be inspiring, challenging, and transformational — always in a positive and
supportive space.
And if you see her with a caramel iced latte (or the occasional Diet Dr. Pepper!), you’ll know she’s ready for a long day in the studio.
Meet Brooke

Brooke knows firsthand the importance of resilience. A memory from her training that has stayed with her forever is being told to “never give up if you truly love dancing and ballet.” It’s a philosophy she carries into her own classes, where she hopes students feel comfortable, have fun, and always learn at least one new thing.

For Brooke, teaching at CCDC is a full-circle moment. Having grown up in this community, she now steps into the role of teacher with deep gratitude for the supportive, family-like environment that makes CCDC so special.
Her classroom fuel? A Starbucks chai tea latte and chocolate croissant — her favorite pre-class ritual.
Meet Lily

Inspired by her older sister, Lily started dancing young and quickly fell in love with performing. A formative memory for her was being welcomed by older dancers when she was added last-minute to a piece — an act of kindness that made her feel included and supported. She now strives to bring that same welcoming energy into her own classes.
Lily hopes her students leave class challenged but also uplifted, knowing that mistakes are part of growth: “Don’t be scared of messing up. Making mistakes is the only way to grow and get better.”
In class, you might hear her play piano covers of pop songs, movie soundtracks, or the music her own teachers once used — a blend of tradition and fun that connects generations of dancers.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone year, we are reminded that CCDC’s legacy is not just about the past — it’s about the people shaping our present and future.
Teachers like Elizabeth, Brooke, and Lily are helping carry our tradition forward, inspiring the next generation of dancers to dream big, work hard, and find joy in every step.
Here’s to 35 years of dance, community, and growth — and to the many first steps still to come.
