Adult Dance Classes

Looking for a fun way to stay in shape and learn something new? In addition to being a great mind-body workout, dancing promotes cardiovascular fitness and good posture. Remember that regular physical activity keeps your body and brain healthy as you age. Read on for some of the many benefits of dancing. Dancing can help:

 

  • strengthen bones and muscles without hurting your joints

  • tone your entire body

  • improve your posture and balance, which can prevent falls

  • increase your stamina and flexibility

  • reduce stress and tension

  • build confidence

  • provide opportunities to meet people, and

  • ward off illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis, and depression



So if you're tired of the treadmill and looking for a fun way to stay fit and healthy, it might be time to kick up your heels! Consider our adult division class offerings! You must pre-register for class -- no drop-in's. The cost is $15/class. 

 

Adult Tap // Mondays from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 

Designed for beginners with experience through intermediate tappers.  Tap is a style of dance characterized by the sound of the metal tap striking the floor.  Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement.  An emphasis is placed on musicality.

Adult Ballet // Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. & Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Our ballet adult classes offer strong technique with the opportunity to move across the floor in every class. The open level ballet classes are designed for students with at least a basic understanding of ballet technique. Our highly qualified instructors will offer variations for different levels of experience within this class.

Beginning Adult Ballet // Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

Perfect for adults new to ballet or returning to ballet after a long hiatus. Loosely based on the Vaganova curriculum, our adult classes offer strong technique with the opportunity to move across the floor in every class.
